Name Letter in Glass Gilding, UK

This is one of my most special signs. It’s an L for my mom, whose name is Ligia. In this glass there are 7 different techniques: gilding • acid etching • edges chipping • blending • shading • outlining • and mother of pearl

All of the steps were guided by my teacher Perry. I still can hear his voice saying ‘be careful Jo, be careful, don’t cut yourself, don’t let the glass break’

It is beautiful to see the final piece after many hours and days of work. In sign painting, there is no such thing as fast work = amazing results. Most part of the time a good job demands a good amount of hours, dedication and patience.

I am very happy with the result, the only thing I am wondering now is how to bring this glass to my mom in Colombia?
