Over the 2 days you will have a full immersion into the world of signwriting. You will have the oportunity to work with high quality materials and the tools of the trade as real signwriters do! Additionally, you will develop muscle memory while learning all about body posture, paint consistency, basic strokes and more. And at the end of the weekend you will create your own sign to take home!
This workshop is perfect for beginners who would like to be introduced to sign painting and those that already have some experience and would like to learn a new letter style.
2 Days Signwriting Workshop Bangor, Northern Ireland
In this weekend you will be introduced into sign painting and learn step-by-step how to paint and draw Script Style Alphabet. The workshop will have place at Seacourt Print Workshop in Bangor, a place full of creativity, art and inspiration!
Don’t worry, all materials are included, you just need to show up with your best vibe and not your fanciest clothes – we don’t want any tragedies! If you have your own apron, feel free to bring it along.

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN IN THIS sign painting workshop?
Day 1: Indepth introduction to signwriting techniques, materials and tools, as well as body posture & everything you need to know before starting painting.
Day 2: Understanding Script letters annatomy, design and paint your own sign to take home.
After this workshop, you will:
- Know how to draw and paint Script Style
- Learn the fundamentals of traditional signwriting
- Have an overview of commonly used tools and techniques
- Develop brush control and muscle memory
- Learn all about body posture, paint consistency and more

I attended a 2 day Sign Painting beginner workshop with Joha Mune. It was a great few days. We learned soo much and in great detail. It was fun, and we were all made to feel so comfortable from the outset. Joha was just great, so helpful, so talented and just lovely people. I would highly recommend a workshop with her.
Such a fantastic intro to sign writing/ sign painting! Joha is warm, friendly and very informative. She is a very supportive and positive teacher; I particularly found that extremely helpful while building my confidence in sign painting. The weekend was wonderful and the food was fantastic. Can’t recommend doing this course enough! Looking forward to progressing the skills I learned and hoping that she’ll do further classes in the future.
I loved the 2 day signwriting workshop with Joha. I learnt so much in really enjoyable company with the other students and Joha dropping little pearls of wisdom throughout and answering all our questions. It was lovely to do this in Joha’s studio, with the warmth of her family and the pups around of course as well as the lovely food. Thanks so much for a lovely weekend of learning, warmth and support. I attended Joha's 2 day introduction to sign painting course and it was loads of fun! She is a fountain of knowledge, very happy to help and answer questions and explained everything really well. Plus her painting skills are amazing to watch. We all had a fab 2 days, it was class to see how much we improved in that time. Couldn't recommend enough!
