Bespoke Hand-Painted and Gold Leaf House Number Sign in Belfast
At Joha Muñe Signs and Gilding, we recently had the pleasure of creating a bespoke house number sign for a stunning Edwardian-era home in Belfast. Located on one of the city’s busiest roads, the property’s entrance was slightly set back and shaded—perfectly preserved, but needing a subtle detail to lift its character and catch the eye.
Traditional Signwriting for House Numbers – Gold Leaf Specialists in Belfast
Garuda Design contacted us looking for something timeless and elegant. They wanted the sign to respect the period style of the home while adding a beautiful, handcrafted finish. We knew immediately that traditional signwriting paired with genuine 23.5-carat Italian gold leaf would deliver exactly that.
Using classic techniques, we hand-painted and gilded the house number directly above the doorway. The result is a warm, sun-catching gleam that changes throughout the day, creating a striking yet tasteful focal point. The gold leaf not only provides a luxurious appearance, but also speaks to craftsmanship that’s becoming rare today
